1. Purpose

This policy defines what "fair" means on Zottle. It protects the platform, the field teams and the respondents from misuse, and it keeps the Service fast and reliable for everyone. It forms part of the Terms of Service.

2. General principle

Use Zottle to collect data you are entitled to collect, from people who know why you are collecting it, in volumes that reflect a real survey operation. If a use would surprise a respondent, or require a disproportionate share of platform resources, it is not fair use.

3. Prohibited uses

  • Sending unsolicited bulk messages, or using collection links as an SMS or email marketing channel.
  • Collecting data through deception — fake surveys, impersonating a public authority, a company or another organisation.
  • Scraping, crawling or extracting data you are not authorised to access, or probing the platform for vulnerabilities without a written authorisation.
  • Circumventing quotas, rate limits, storage allowances, role permissions or audit trails.
  • Storing or transmitting unlawful content, malware, or personal data you have no lawful basis to process.
  • Reselling or white-labelling the Service without a written agreement with Zottle.
  • Significantly automating submissions from a single device, or generating artificial responses to inflate a dataset.

4. Resource limits and quotas

Each plan includes storage allowances for files and media. Where a plan states an allowance (for example 200 MB, 1 GB or 1 TB), that allowance covers stored uploads such as photos, audio recordings and attachments, and is measured on the workspace as a whole.

  • We may apply rate limits to API calls, public collection links and export jobs to keep the Service stable.
  • Large exports are processed asynchronously; repeated very large exports may be throttled.
  • If you exceed your storage allowance, we will notify you and may restrict new uploads until usage is reduced or the plan is upgraded. Collection is not interrupted without notice.

5. AI features (Synex)

Synex answers questions about your own forms and indicators. It operates within your workspace permissions: a guest receives aggregate answers only, never individual responses.

  • Do not use Synex to attempt to re-identify respondents from aggregated data.
  • Do not use AI features to generate content that misrepresents collected data or fabricates results.
  • AI output is assistance, not a substitute for professional judgement — verify important figures against the underlying data.

6. Enforcement

We apply this policy proportionately. Depending on the severity, we may send a warning, throttle the offending activity, restrict a form or a link, suspend the workspace, or terminate the agreement.

  • For clear abuse affecting third parties or platform security, we may act immediately and explain afterwards.
  • In other cases, we give notice and a reasonable opportunity to remedy the situation.
  • You can appeal a decision by writing to support@zottle.app; a review is carried out by a different team member.

7. Reporting abuse

If you believe a Zottle form or collection link is being used abusively — fake survey, impersonation, harassment, unlawful data collection — report it to support@zottle.app with the link and a short description. We investigate and act where warranted.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the Service or in observed abuse patterns. Material changes follow the notice process described in the Terms of Service.
